Joey has been training horses since 1993 and is well known in the Paso Fino World for his gentle and thorough methods of starting young horses, utilizing the approach to horse training.
While taking part in the Horse Expo in Winston Salem a few years ago, Joey caught the eye of the world famous horse trainer, John Lyons. Joey was working his BLM Mustang, Satriani in the round pen during a break, when John noticed him and was so impressed that he asked Joey to be his assistant during his demonstrations. This was one of Joey's most memorable experiences!
Joey started out training all different breeds of horses but became interested in Pasos after seeing one at the boarding stable where he was keeping his mustang. Since then, his main focus has been on training & showing Paso Finos exclusively. He has shown at both the Regional and National level for the last few years and has won numerous blue ribbons. 

Joey is assisted by his three daughters, Cheyanne, Chenoa & Kayla, who have won at a National level, also do their part in helping to keep stalls clean and horses fed and watered. The 4 of them travel to shows together and everyone works hard to keep things running smoothly both at home and on the road.
